Here are just a few of the things you will get to do:
Executes strategic sourcing activities for their assigned categories, including: RFQs, supplier selection, negotiations, and developing and implementing cost savings projects. Coordinates with teams and key stakeholders for strategy development and execution. Aligns procurement strategies with key stakeholders in businesses and functions.
Acts and ads value in a multi-disciplinary environment with innovation, engineering, quality, operations and logistics. Drives continuously cost reduction, cost avoidance and cash improvements, always prioritizing continuity of operations.
Evaluates current supplier base and develop a plan to optimize for current and future HEPN needs. Negotiates contracts and purchase orders with suppliers. Serves as the first escalation point for any supplier performance issues.
Develops and executes procurement strategies by using category and supplier management tools and systems. Develop procedures and tools to improve department productivity and lean processes. Manage metrics tracking and reporting.
Undertakes comprehensive procurement tasks including RFI, RFQ, processes for high-value, high-risk purchases. Facilitates the process of developing and managing contracts and will be responsible for low-value/low-risk to high-value/high-risk contracts.
Executes the operational procurement of all materials within the product portfolio (SAP), including the overall Purchase to Pay process.
Participates in Global Procurement projects and processes.

We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field, and a minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain or procurement. Experience with strategic sourcing within the chemical industry is preferred. PMP Certification and/or master’s degree is preferred.
Must be proficient in ERP system such as SAP and possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong communication skills (written and oral) are required along with the ability to collaborate with and/or influence others both internally and externally. Must manage strategic and non-strategic supplier relationships effectively. Able to negotiate based on first-hand observations and information collected to achieve a specific objective.
Able to organize and plan tasks as scheduled or ahead of time. Can handle multiple assignments or project tasks of high complexity. Demonstrated experience producing strategic sourcing deliverables (spend analysis, supply market analysis).
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative.
