The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management of plant operations, meeting production goals and maintaining focus on manufacturing processes to ensure corporate objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the entire manufacturing day-to-day operations.

  • Maintains the Production Schedules and ensures the transfer to night shift is seamless.

  • Identify and develop processes that will streamline productivity and reduce down time.

  • Analyzes workforce requirements; coordinates with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and train manufacturing personnel.

  • Coordinates with production control, Inventory control, Purchasing and the maintenance department (and there outside vendors) with regards to subcontracted parts, equipment repairs and maintenance.

  • Develop and execute the plant operations budget.

  • Conduct performance appraisals; provide guidance and coaching to all personnel.

  • Develops effective relationships with key departments to ensure priorities/goals are aligned and support is reciprocated.

  • Ensures conformance to established procedures and product quality levels.

  • Maintain and contributes to a safe work environment.

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

  • Set daily targets and ensure they are met.

  • Motivate and mentor teams to achieve production goals.

  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.

  • Experience in leading, managing, motivating and training employees.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills

  • Previous experience with implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, etc., would be considered an asset.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documents as related to manufacturing processes.

  • Ability and skills in the use and programming of cnc Equipment for machining and fabrication processes.

  • Presents high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.


  • 7+ years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment;

  • Preference will be given to those with experience with machining and fabrication operations.

  • University degree or post-secondary certificate/diploma in a related field is preferred.

  • An Industrial engineering and advanced use of robotics and cnc operations is preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills, including experience successfully building, developing, and motivating high-quality professional staff.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing is preferred with experience with application of lean principles.

  • Effective in Project execution and team building.
