You are a Production Scheduler. You will determine daily, weekly, and monthly production activities based on a variety of factors such as Customer orders, anticipated delivery dates, plant personnel, equipment capabilities and inventory availability. You will create and actionable and efficient production schedule to support assigned ClosetMaid manufacturing locations. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on our bottom line.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
In Grantsville, Maryland. Typically you will work about 90% in the office and 10% on the manufacturing floor.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Create and maintain production schedules in order to satisfy Customer order requirements
Plan the use of labor and equipment resources in order to support production requirements and maximize efficiencies.
Provide quick responses to production issues and demonstrate adaptability and adjust to unforeseen equipment, personnel and raw material issues
Identify opportunities to improve internal manufacturing processes / introduce lean manufacturing and / or eliminate redundant manufacturing activities
Manage production resources such as employee availability, timelines and physical inventories to support production needs
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support Customer needs as required
Be able to make decisions, work independently
Develop reports outlining production activities and effectiveness.
Conduct visual and physical counts of inventory levels / parts to support schedule development
Must have a 2 year degree in related field of study (Bachelor’s Degree a plus)
1-3 years in production planning, inventory control and / or scheduling
Strong PC skills including the MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel-specifically, V lookups and Pivot Tables
Strong mathematics skills and be able to make precise calculations to support material and staffing needs.
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Team coordination – effectively coordinate team activity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit and encourage a sense of urgency
Effective problem-solving skills with understanding of Lean MFG principles
Ability to anticipate risk in production and adapt to alternative contingencies
APICS or CPIM certifications a plus
