Koch Fertilizer, LLC is an entrepreneurial company pursuing a self-motivated Capital Project Manager experienced in the chemicals industry to join our Koch Fertilizer Beatrice Nebraska facility. At Koch Fertilizer, Project Managers play an instrumental role in identifying, developing, engineering, and executing diverse projects to sustain and grow our businesses. Projects range in scope and size ($100K to $10MM), providing a continually changing and dynamic learning environment.


The successful candidate will be an integral member on our project engineering team and have ownership over execution of capital asset projects. Typical responsibilities are to lead conceptual project development, front-end engineering, detailed design and construction, continuing through commissioning and post startup project analysis. The Project Manager will work with plant team to develop the business objectives, project scopes of work (engineering & construction), AFE package, project execution plan, procurement, construction, and cost control packages.


What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1
    or more year(s) of experience in project engineering, project management, reliability
    engineering, or
    military project experience

  • Bachelor's

  • Experience
    managing multiple projects at one time

  • Experience
    identifying root issues/opportunities, developing scopes of work, and estimating

  • Good
    economic thinking skills to determine best alternative

  • Good
    Communication skills

  • Willing
    and able to travel up to 15% of the time 

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to enter operating facility sites to access and inspect equipment and construction progress.
  • Ability to utilize ladders and platforms more than 100'
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and be capable of utilizing all required personal protective equipment


What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience working on small and medium capital projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering

  • Experience with total project life cycle- design and execution using a phased-gate process

  • Experience working in a chemical, refinery, or similar process plant
  • Experience working with project controls
  • Construction management experience
