Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for EHS Compliance at site

  • Work alongside managers/employees on EHS issues

  • Assist in coordination, planning and facilitating training seminars

  • Educate staff via weekly safety trainings in English (Spanish beneficial, but not required)

  • Assist in Accident Management

  • Coordinate/lead Safety Committee meetings monthly

  • Weekly coaching on Lockout/Tagout and procedural audits

  • Performs weekly/monthly inspections at each plant

  • Trend, analyze accidents for trends and prevention measures

  • Learn and operate plant tools/equipment

  • Recognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action Plans

  • Assist site management as needed with various EHS and production related projects

Requirements / Education / Experience


  • At least 1 year of equivalent experience

  • Ability to lead, provide direction, coach and mentor, solve problems and control variances          

  • Willingness to work with all levels of company to achieve safety expectations

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret plant safety procedures, professional journals and technical manuals

  • Ability to write reports and procedural manuals

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, California State and EPA regulations

  • Communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

  • Proficient in navigating Windows-based systems (folder/file structure, etc.)

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

  • Ability to understand basic mathematical formulas and to calculate percentages, area, volume, etc.

  • Creative, innovative thinker with a common-sense approach to complex issues  

  • Displays a willingness to learn and develop in a team environment

  • Projects a positive attitude, adapts well, and embraces challenging opportunities
