Provide medical nutrition therapy to patient by creating nutritional care.
Plan based on the health needs of the patients.
Participate as a member of the medical team for nutritional care of patients and education of medical staff, medical, students and dietetic interns.
Uses Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for adult and geriatric outpatients and inpatients.
Teaches dietetic interns.
Participates in multidisciplinary teams and develops nutritional components of care.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patientâ€™s status according to age.

Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
Education Required: Bachelorâ€™s degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetic.
Experience Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
Licensure by the State of Iowa is required. (Those students who have successfully completed the academic and experience requirements necessary to qualify for accreditation, and who have applied for licensure may be hired if a licensed dietitian supervises them.)
Demonstrated competency of patient care in adult and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas.
