Technica is recruiting for a Truck Driver, Heavy Truck to perform work on a Government contract in Barstow, CA
Truckdriver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business. This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order.
Operate straight trucks, over 4 tons, usually 10 wheels.
Read and interpret instructions and documentation; plan work activities accordingly
Observe and follow all safety rules, traffic regulations, and operating procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment and reporting delays or accidents
Maintain vehicle in a safe and clean condition
Conduct safety check and inspect all routine fluids on daily basis prior to driving vehicle for first time of each shift.
Maintain vehicle log and submit daily vehicle deficiencies to supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
Skill in driving both automatic and standard transmission vehicles, both straight and combinations trucks, maneuvering tractor-trailer into loading or unloading positions, following hand and arm signals from others, and working as part of a team.
Skill in coupling and uncoupling trailers, connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines, and manipulating fifth-wheel locks
Minimum three (3) years of experience driving a tractor-trailer truck
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) equivalent to a US Class A CDL.
Must be able to obtain a bus endorsement within 30 days of hire
Good driving record
Must be able to obtain base access
Must be a US citizen
