Our Albany, OR Chemical Facility is seeking an innovative and qualified individual to join our manufacturing team as an Operator Trainee. This position will create value by assisting operators to meet and exceed production goals while maintaining a focus on safety. By assisting operators with assigned duties, individuals will have an opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to advance into an operator position.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods in accordance with customer and chemical specifications
Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
Monitoring equipment and performing minor troubleshooting to ensure optimal production and minimal downtime
Writing up work orders and process improvement suggestions
Using a computer to document data such as shipping and receiving information and manufacturing processes
What You Will Need:
High school diploma or GED
Willing and able to work in outside weather conditions as well as in an industrial environment
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
Willing and able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Willing and able to follow facial hair guidelines for respirator usage
Willing and able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
Willing and able to work variable start times, twelve (12) hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime and on call hours as scheduled
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
What Will Put You Ahead?
Experience operating a forklift
Experience in the chemical industry
Mechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
A minimum of one (1) year of previous manufacturing or industrial military experience
Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
