Key Role Responsibilities - Core
PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR FAMILY – CORE
Establishes strategy and direction for category teams and operations teams engaged in the sourcing process. Provides risk management oversight and leads risk mitigation activities for the supply base.
Understands and translates business requirements into sourcing solutions, partnering with operations leaders to garner the most value from the company’s collective supply base. Leads comprehensive and standardized spend evaluations and recommends improvement opportunities to business partners.
Develops and executes sourcing strategies (category buying plans, strategic sourcing processes, and supplier rationalization) that will leverage the company’s collective spend to reduce costs and add customer value.
Leads and directs priorities for the operational arm of procurement, including training and development, performance monitoring (KPIs/metrics), buyer support, and supplier diversity initiatives. This also includes accountability for overseeing and ensuring the efficiency of the purchase order and invoice resolution process and ensuring proper payment to suppliers. Encourages the utilization of LEAN principles to drive efficiency and eliminate waste, identifying standardization opportunities and ensuring a collaborative environment to achieve business objectives.
Owns the procure-to-pay business process and leads associated process improvement activities.
Oversees development of supplier relationship management programs, including personal involvement in key supplier relationships.
Leads and enhances contract processes and standardization in partnership with Legal and Information Security.
Develops supplier segmentation strategies for equipment and materials categories and facilitates sound decision making in the sourcing process.
Leads the evaluation and implementation of technology solutions to promote standardization and efficiency in the sourcing process.
Oversees key procurement initiatives i.e.; large supplier negotiations, approval of large expenditures, and process improvements.
Benchmarks industry best-practices and recommends ongoing enhancements to drive innovation, meet schedules and reduce costs.
Provides talent management and development support for assigned procurement span of control.
Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or supply chain management (Required).
In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.
10+ years procurement experience (Required).
5+ years in a supply chain leadership position (Preferred).
