As the Linehaul Coordinator, you will for set up, oversee, and supervise all aspects of the XPO Logistics Freight (Less-than-Truckload) linehaul operation. You will represent XPO with outside maintenance and truckload vendors through your actions and by living our company core values of safety, integrity, commitment, and excellence. Your leadership and direction will improve the accuracy and timeliness of linehaul projections, helping to deliver world-class customer service. This role is critical in positioning XPO for long-term success.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Position all shipments in the linehaul operation to ensure timely service

  • Manage equipment pools to ensure linehaul and service center goals can be achieved

  • Suggest network design changes to improve freight flow productivity

  • Oversee daily linehaul operation and set up

  • Reduce total company schedules and empty miles to reduce costs without compromising service

  • Assist and supervise all activity relating to freight assembly centers and reship operations within your assigned area

  • Assist all employees involved in the linehaul operation to ensure cost-effective use of company assets

  • Monitor schedules daily within your area of responsibility to verify load factor and utility of equipment

  • Communicate problems encountered at your assigned service centers or meet and turn points up the chain of command until the problem is resolved

  • Ensure all employees under your supervision comply with company policies and procedures

  • Provide leadership and direction necessary to improve the accuracy and timeliness of linehaul projections

  • Concentrate on the fundamentals of service, quality, administrative compliance, and communication

  • Support, through your actions, our company core values of safety, integrity, commitment and excellence

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or Production Operations

  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate, coach, develop, and lead employees

  • Working knowledge of freight movement systems, methodologies, and procedures

  • Familiarity with DOT and Hazmat rules and regulations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

It’d be great if you also have:


  • Working knowledge of the truckload industry

  • Strong analytical skills

  • A good motivator with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to multitask

  • Prompt, daily attendance at assigned work location
