Job Description:


The role of the Senior Manager, Strategy, Analytics and Planning, is to create and maintain accurate and timely reporting to support the overall collaboration of the Urban Decay sales and finance teams and fulfill L Oreal reporting requirements. This role will support the growth of the business through intelligent and informed planning and analysis of the business, as well as management of markdowns and support on the Nordstrom Rack and Belk accounts. Senior Manager will assist the Director of Strategy, Analytics and Planning in the execution of overall strategic vision, maintaining outstanding partnerships with all cross-functional teams.


Financial planning:

* Work closely with Director and SVP of Sales to plan and maintain gross shipment and retail sales budgets for all North American accounts

* Help determine how each account builds their business for the current and following year

* Track actualized sales vs. plans monthly, quarterly, and yearly

* Work with Urban Decay finance in budgeting and planning accounts for future months

* Provide UD and L Oreal finance with month-end retailer commentary at the beginning of each month, summarizing all MTD sales, product launches, seasonal product performance against plans, and performance by retailer for prior closing month

* Enter all retailer deduction events in L Oreal LEAP system for sales and finance approval

Sales reporting:

* Manage position of Sales Analyst, Retail and support overall accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of sales reports

* Work with L Oreal counterparts to transition reporting onto Analyzer/Cube reports where applicable

* Allocate annual sales budgets into monthly budgets for stores as well as retailer dot com

* Publish the North America Sku Roll-Up Report weekly in a timely and accurate manner

* Execute ad hoc sales and financial reporting for L Oreal Luxe

* Report sales for new trends, e-retailers, pre-budget data, etc. as required

* Maintain 5-year retail sales projection plan file for CEO

* Maintain sales projection ladders for major launches

* Distribute weekly Executive Summary recapping previous week s business growth, key events, and performance for seasonal newness, categories, and regions

* Create templates for sales meeting, holiday recap meeting, and various reports for sales team to use

Markdown management:

* Create and maintain a database of all available markdown skus

* Work closely with Director to develop a timeline and forecast for markdown skus

* Provide monthly markdown forecasts to Urban Decay finance

* Publish a monthly markdown calendar to the Urban Decay sales teams and maintain transparent information flows about markdowns to all accounts

* Communicate availability of markdown skus to account teams in a timely manner

* Work with L Oreal South Brunswick personnel to rework, transfer and/or hold inventory as necessary

* Create and maintain a weekly markdown sales tracker; present in weekly sales meeting

* Work with account teams to optimize sales opportunities and anniversary events from LY

Nordstrom Rack management:

* Work with Nordstrom Rack/Hautelook buying teams to ship off price inventory, monitor POs, track and report sales, and manage sku setup and asset delivery as needed

* Publish weekly Nordstrom Rack sales recap

* Host biweekly touchbase call with Nordstrom Rack buying team

* Arrange semiannually Nordstrom Rack in-person meetings, including sales presentations, recap reports, logistical arrangements and meeting gratis

NPD management:

* Become familiar with NPD systems and reports

* Work with Director to present this information to Urban Decay sales team monthly

* Pull competitive selling as requested by Director and SVP of Sales

Belk account management:

* Host weekly call with Belk buying team

* Work with brand field team to understand store-level needs and find solutions as issues arise

* Track and report on sales weekly, analyzing mix-of-business and specific category selling

* Partner with UD creative team on updates: model photography, product shots, copy, and opportunities for new and exciting brand pages (travel, collections, new messaging, etc.)

* Support brand Events team with coordination efforts as needed

* Help facilitate and prepare for all sales meetings: pack gratis, compile marketing books, ship samples and coordinate meals and meeting rooms as needed

* Prepare PowerPoint presentations along with all needed analysis to be presented at retailer meetings

* Place and monitor delivery of all no-cost and collateral orders and order and maintain all PRPD samples

Other tasks:

* Maintain US launch calendar

* Track and communicate any updates with all accounts, product development, marketing, merchandising, and any other necessary departments

* Create and maintain vault schedule (quantities, SRP, value, launch and PAD dates) for all US accounts

* Execute holiday retail partner gifting strategy

* Proficiency in retail math and Microsoft Excel

* Undergraduate degree required

* 5+ years relevant work experience

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. A demonstrated high level of Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.

* Must have excellent analytical skills

* Planning and/or buying experience preferred

* Experience in cosmetics industry preferred
