Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Production Supervisor will provide supervisory support for manufacturing operations within the plant and is responsible for driving safety, quality, service, productivity, and employee engagement.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Ensuring a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment

  • Providing direct supervision to production and/or hourly employees

  • Evaluating employee performance and provide necessary coaching, feedback and disciplinary actions

  • Inspiring integrity by upholding and complying with 3M policies and guidelines

  • Handling shift administrative activities such as time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.

  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality and spending

  • Planning daily work schedules, determine priorities, allocate work assignments, and regulate production processes to meet specific daily production requirements

  • Championing lean manufacturing efforts and projects

  • Support Team Leaders to insure standard operating procedures are practiced by all employees across all shifts in a standardized manner.

  • Responsible to support Team Leads to insure training plans are developed for all team members in regards to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, 5D, Quality at the source etc.

  • Responsible to team up with Team Leads to create positive work environment and to address any employee related issues such as absenteeism, attitude &/or job performance concerns. Production supervisor will utilize Job relation process to engage team members to address potential issues

  • Insure Total Preventive Management procedures such as daily check lists and equipment up keep is practiced consistently by all Team Leads across all shifts.

  • Coordinate off shift maintenance activities and enter maintenance work requests

  • Responsible for communicating expectations on a regular basis to enhance each team member’s contribution on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts and be willing to be on-call

Basic Qualifications:


  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years of combined manufacturing and/or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Supervisory and/or leadership experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Self-directed and detail oriented

  • Ability to create, lead and work in a team atmosphere

  • Ability to drive and influence positive change

Location: Quapaw, OK

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation: Is not authorized
