Data Analytics Analyst (a/k/a Senior IT Auditor) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts): will be a member of State Street’s Data Analytics team, which works collaboratively with our stakeholders to manage project delivery and lead teams of data analytics resources in all aspects of design and delivery of information solutions. Data Analysis is integrated into the audit function and assists in leveraging data as an asset throughout the audit lifecycle. Specific duties include: Use appropriate data analytic and statistical tools and techniques to analyze a variety of data sources; develop internal partnerships to provide opportunities for more efficient solutions to various data, system, and applications issues; responsible for the data mining, manipulation, and support of Analytical Reports; analyze and interpret reporting results to assist business users; assist in implementation of additional scenarios, businesses, systems, etc; and perform data searches and/or other ad hoc requests; ensure reports are generated and distributed within expected time frames. Domestic/International travel up to 10% of time.
Minimum requirements are: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Management of Information Systems, Financial Engineering, or a related field; and two years of experience in financial services. Alternatively, will accept Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Management of Information Systems, Financial Engineering, or a related field; and five years of experience in financial services.
Must have: Years of experience in financial services must include two years of demonstrated programming, application or report development, and extract/transform/load (ETL) experience using two or more of the following: SAS, SQL, MS SQL Server, Teradata, Python, VB.NET, and ACL; demonstrated project management skills and the ability to perform technical quality assurance over the programming of other analysts; proven ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment; proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present both technical and business concepts in a clear and concise manner; familiarity with one or more of the following: business/IT internal audit lifecycles, fraud/financial crimes, or regulatory compliance; and demonstrated experience using visualization or business intelligence platform tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Spotfire, Tableau, and/or QuikView to build performance optimization solutions.
