PGIM Real Estate Finance is seeking an Associate Underwriter with prior experience in Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac multifamily and/or mortgage loan programs. The Associate Underwriter is responsible for underwriting loans independently, with some oversight or review from the Senior Underwriters. Individuals in this position are expected to proactively identify and solve credit issues. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, be self motivated, work independently as well as in a group environment, and have the ability to multi-task and manage a high volume workload. This position will be located in PGIM Real Estate Finance's Arlington or San Francisco office.
Primary job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
? Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers and be present for all kick off calls, status updates, and closing calls.
? Review and approve relevant due diligence material.
? Conduct site visits
? Ability to articulate issues and possible solutions.
? Complete and finalize narrative and model.
? Prepare waiver requests/exceptions and justifications.
? Present deal to Loan Committee with input from other team members.
? Review Applications & Commitments Review and Approve Closing Model.
? Ensure Loan Connect data integrity.
? Complete Standard Deviations Memo for closing.
? Demonstrate time management skills for transactions.
? Demonstrate knowledge of Agency guidelines.
? Learning the art of underwriting and how to mitigate risks appropriately.
? A minimum of a BS/BA degree required, preferably in finance, real estate or a related discipline preferred.
? A minimum of 2 or more years experience in underwriting and/or screening transactions.
? Strong attention to detail.
? Experience in the Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac multifamily mortgage business is preferred.
? Proficient in analysis of Mortgage Credit and Borrower structures.
? Proficient in MS Office applications.
? Superior organizational and analytical skills with ability to multi-task.
? Ability to work independently and successfully with others in a fast paced environment.
? Superior verbal and written communication skills needed and good client interaction abilities.
? Ability to travel to inspect properties as well as attend industry meetings, conferences, etc.
