The Bead Array Operational Engineering and Science (OES) team is looking for a driven, talented Process Engineer to join our growing Life Cycle Management (LCM) group. The OES team works as an integral part of our Consumables Manufacturing process and is tasked with developing and managing continuous improvement projects as well as increasing quality and yield within our high-volume production environment.
We are growing at a rapid rate and are currently looking for an experienced Senior engineer to support our Bead Array Process. This individual will provide technical leadership on process improvements and sustaining activities. Additionally, this person will partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, Validation and other engineering groups to sustain, refine, and improve processes for our current production process.
Develop and managing continuous improvement projects within the Bead Array manufacturing process.
Troubleshoot production line issues related to yield, quality, and throughput.
Construct and execute controlled experiments (including DOE's) to provide process optimization, address yield and quality issues, and drive implementation of solutions in an ongoing production environment.
Analyze test results, issue reports, and make technical recommendations for process changes and improvements.
Coordinate cross site alignment with our Singapore Bead Array team.
Lead teams in implementing both major and minor process changes.
Design, develop, test, and implement changes to increase throughput and yield, and/or reduce costs.
Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, Validation and other engineering groups to sustain, refine, and improve processes for our current production proces.
Define technical requirements and write procedures.
Define and drive execution of validation plans and protocols.
Work on cross functional teams to develop and transfer new processes/products to production and enhance their robustness.
Work experience in the optics, medical device, diagnostic, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry is desired.
At least 5 years of relevant production experience required.
Experience expanding production capacity is required.
Experience with automation implementation is a plus.
Experience with Critical/Key Parameter Management is required.
High level problem-solving and reasoning skills required.
Experience with high volume production in a high tech, high volume consumables industry is highly desired.
Experience applying statistics, Statistical Process Control, and DOE techniques is a required.
High level computer skills are required. Intermediate level programming knowledge is strongly desired. Experience with large data sets a plus.
Experience with project management and/or product development processes and is desired.
Good interdepartmental communication skills and documentation skills are required.
Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals while working across departments is required.
B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 5+ years of relevant experience in a production support and/or process development, design, or scale-up role.
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
