The ideal candidate will be a laboratory-based investigator whose research program and interests innovatively impact the field of cancer immunotherapy. Specific areas of interest include innate immunity, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and chimeric antigen receptor expressing T lymphocytes (CAR-T cells).

Junior investigators should have a strong publication record and evidence of successful competition for external funding is preferred. Senior candidates must have a strong publication record and history of NIH- or equivalent extramural funding. The selected individual is expected to develop and/or maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program. Several collaborative and translational opportunities exist, such as participation in program and excellence grants (e.g. NCI SPORE grants), integrating all three Mayo sites (AZ, MN, and FL) and are strongly encouraged and supported. Mayo Clinic offers a highly competitive compensation package with sustained intramural salary support, outstanding laboratory facilities, capital equipment funding, technical and computational resources, and exceptional benefits.
The Mayo Clinic Department of Immunology is a three-site department with 41 independent investigators. The department sponsors outstanding NIH-funded PhD and MD/PhD training programs, and provides an interactive, collaborative environment for the investigation of basic mechanisms of immunity and the translation of new insights to the treatment of human disease.
