Georgia-Pacific is seeking a supervisorto support our Maintenance Team at our Foley Cellulose facility in Perry, Florida. The Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor will lead a cellulose products maintenance team to work injury-free/incident-free in a continuous manufacturing environment consistent with Market Based Management (MBM)® philosophy and framework. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to help ensure that the department is meeting the objectives that drive improvements in all associated work processes affecting EH&S, compliance, reliability, quality, production and costs. Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership and holding employees accountable.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes
Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved.
Maintain a safe working environment by training staff and applying safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Contribute to the mill’s safety and reliability by applying principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify appropriate Predictive and Preventative maintenance procedures.
Ensure the facility's instrumentation is operating reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with all electrical safety regulations.
Drive reliability excellence through passionate execution of precision and proactive maintenance strategies.
Monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize production efficiency.
Active performance management, including performing skills gap analysis and developing gap closure strategies. Provide direction and coaching of instrument technicians in their roles, responsibilities, and expectations to meet plant objectives in reliability, safety, environmental, and quality.
Identify and implement instrumentation improvements that result in year-over-year improvements in safety, production, uptime and costs. Assist with troubleshooting production issues.
Promote electronic documentation of records and troubleshooting techniques by the instrumentation team to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance & personnel records.
Oversee routine maintenance checks and report/resolve any faults or abnormalities of equipment.
Utilize a Computer based Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to access and update equipment maintenance records.
Ensure that plans, schedules, and materials are available to allow for work to be handled effectively and efficiently (daily and outages).
Collaborate with Operations Supervisors and Maintenance Scheduler to produce & publish maintenance schedules. Coordinate daily work schedule with Operations & Planning departments. Review critical jobs/operations with crafts and contractors, and assign specific work to specific personnel. Update backlog to ensure true representation of actual remaining work.
Collaborate with peers to continually improve Reliability and Maintenance Repair processes.
Provide backup support for other maintenance/technical supervisors as required.
Provide Maintenance Duty on call coverage as required.
