Position Description Overview


The Sales Executive, New Client Acquisition is the lead sales person to create a strategic relationship with senior business leaders leading to the acquisition of new clients in the Hotels, Travel and Leisure vertical markets (including airlines, hotels, vacation rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, tour operators and ground transportation providers). A proven individual that is comfortable opening doors and driving an aligned vision match of the prospect and First Data to close. As the strategic advisor to the client, this individual is required to have an in-depth understanding of the clients business, goals, strategies and industry trends and directions. This role is focused on helping clients grow their business leading large, multi-disciplined project teams, and integrating a broad set of innovative payment and technology solutions in complex client environments.



Job Responsibilities


  • Responsible for new C-level account development with large complex customers with longer sales cycle. These are the top level individual salespeople below the global account level.Long sales cycle. 'C-Level' (CEO, CFO, COO) sales. Works with minimal guidance.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with 10 years sales related experience preferred. (National/GFS)
  • Generates new demand, revenue and profit margin for First Data with a target list of new client prospects in our Hotels, Travel & Leisure vertical markets. 
  • Conducts regular cadence of communication with the client at all levels and disciplines by effectively articulating the First Data value proposition. 
  • Often lead multiple opportunities concurrently although typically in different sales stages in a manner that will identify and execute to close new sales opportunities following First Data’s sales process methodology. 
  • Understand and executes effectively the pipeline, forecasting, and commitment to buy process with high degree of accuracy through time to revenue. 
  • Needs to be a great planner – have a plan, work the plan, re-evaluate the plan on an ongoing basis and revise it as necessary. 
  • Leads and develops an account strategy using clients growth plans, budget and project timelines. 
  • Build a business case leading to the submission and presentation to the client a proposal with a set of solutions, business justification and expected results to overcome objections and win the business with maximum revenue / margin. 
  • Insures proactive accountability leading to enhanced client experience. 
  • Be able to elevate and bring to closure client issues quickly and effectively with a sense of urgency.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10 years sales related experience preferred, or equivalent military experience. 

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and/or relationship management functions in one or more of the Hotel, Travel & Leisure vertical markets (including airlines, hotels, vacation rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, tour operators and ground transportation providers) with successful demonstrated performance against quota assignments for multiple years 

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of solution selling. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships at a very senior level with clients gaining trusted advisor status 

  • Domain expertise in the Hotel, Travel & Leisure vertical markets (including airlines, hotels, vacation rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, tour operators and ground transportation providers) 

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills 

  • Must have a background in a majority of these areas: financial processes, banking, card processing, merchant processing, check services, prepaid and alternative payments. 

  • Experience in technology software or services sales to large accounts. 

  • Prior experience of successfully working in a dynamic, matrix environment 

  • Excellent verbal and communications skills 

  • Travel required: Approximately 30-40%
