Title: Product Design, Intern Summer 2018
At ZapLabs, we work to build and improve a platform that helps real estate professionals work effectively, and helps delight home buyers and sellers with an excellent experience. We do that by combining great technology with great people – and we’re looking for a Product Design Intern to join our team for a 10-week internship (tentatively late May-July).
What we’re looking for:
You’re curious about why people do what they do, love delivering good user experiences, and are ready to gain some experience designing applications! You’re eager to learn more about product design best practices and stay abreast of current trends. You try to understand what users do, not just what they say, and deliver a great feature for their true use case. You’re ready to combine your great sense of aesthetics with a research-driven design process. You look forward to being part of a fast-paced, collaborative team, and want to help solve complex problems with simple, easy-to-use solutions.
What you’ll do:
You’ll join ZapLabs’s Product Design team, turning product ideas into great user experiences. Working with UX Researchers, you’ll help design and help conduct research studies, from user personas to UX tests for existing or new features. Working with Product Managers, you’ll translate product strategy and user requirements into full-fledged user experiences, including mockups, user flow diagrams, and interactive prototypes. You’ll also work with our Engineering teams to turn mockups into features, working together to maintain a polished and scalable pattern library. You’ll be expected to use data, competitive research, and analytic rigor in designing our user experiences. Most importantly, you’ll embody a spirit of empathy for our users’ needs, learn constantly, and move fast.
