•Provide client service support: attend meetings, meet deadlines, troubleshoot problems and draft recaps
•Write, edit and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles
•Support crisis, issues and risk projects across Edelman’s global network
•Manage time and utilization effectively across personal account load
•Oversee and coordinate projects working with teams across the office as well as vendors, including tracking financial details
•Demonstrate understanding of and implement public engagement and social media tools
•Identify and work with media; demonstrate network of traditional and online media contacts
•Supervise staff junior to you on projects and potentially manage intern support
•Participate in new business process including research, proposal writing and pitch preparation
•Commit to continuous learning through Edelman University and other training opportunities

The account executive must have at least one year of relevant experience in public affairs, policy, political campaigns, research, management consulting or public relations (or related fields including advertising, media and publishing). An account executive must have good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts. The account executive should have an interest in public policy and current news with the ability to distill complex issues into digestible and compelling briefs for executive and media audiences.
The account executive should have a bachelor’s degree in public affairs, policy, politics, research, or a related field, with a solid grasp of all basic consulting tools and how they are used as well as solid research, writing and editing skills. S/he should have the ability to develop relationships with third parties, clients and media and apply initiative in developing traditional and digital communications strategies. The account executive should also be a motivated self-starter and possess a keen attention to detail. A background in crisis, issues and/or risk management communications is also preferred.
