The Program Manager position is an opportunity to drive meaningful impact by shaping strategic recruitment efforts, fostering partnerships, and strengthening pipelines supporting student access and engineering success at Ohio State.
As an essential member of the Community, Access, Retention, and Empowerment (CARE) team, the Program Manager for Undergraduate Recruitment plays a pivotal role in cultivating strategic recruitment initiatives to expand and diversify applicant pools for the College of Engineering. Reporting directly to the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment, this position focuses on strengthening pathways to degree programs by collaborating with regional campus partners, school districts where Ohio State campuses are located, and key University pipeline programs, such as the Young Scholars Program and Upward Bound.
The Program Manager works closely with college and university partners to coordinate weekly overview visits and large-scale recruitment events. Additionally, they serve as the primary lead for ambassador led high school outreach across targeted districts, working to enhance engagement and increase access to engineering education. This role also involves: leading the recruitment team in facilitating prospective student overviews, individual meetings, and campus tours; advising a 70+ member student ambassador organization, ensuring meaningful student engagement in recruitment efforts; supporting CARE Connected student volunteers to enhance peer-led recruitment efforts; hiring, training, and supervising student recruitment staff; collaborating with the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment to research, develop, and implement recruitment strategies tailored for high school students; collecting, analyzing, and reporting enrollment and recruitment data to inform decision-making; serving as the primary contact for recruitment webpages, ensuring accurate and engaging content; traveling to and participating in local, regional, and national recruitment events.
This student-facing role requires some evening and weekend commitments, as well as travel. Due to the nature of the position and the significant interaction with students, faculty, staff, and the public, a fully remote or hybrid schedule is limited.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree; at least 4 years of experience in outreach, recruitment, or higher education; proven success in developing and implementing strategies to increase access to higher education; strong knowledge of admissions trends, practices, and principles; experience in program and event planning; excellent written and verbal communication skills; adaptable, self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven; strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desired: 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience advising student organizations or volunteers; familiarity with enrollment management tools and platforms; strong project management skills with the ability to navigate shifting priorities efficiently.

Hiring Range: $55,100 - $72,400
The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
