Senior Financial Analyst - Alvarez & Marsal Tax

Role Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial planning and reporting functions for the global tax practice. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this individual will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis, preparing budgets, and supporting various financial processes and initiatives. This role requires a dynamic and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and interpretation of financial results and key operational metrics across multiple countries.

  • Perform monthly reviews and analyses of overhead expenditures, comparing them against the budget and prior year figures, and preparing detailed reports.

  • Assist the finance team in the preparation of the annual budget and mid-year forecasts.

  • Support the finance team in the annual year-end compensation process.

  • Provide insights and analyses to stakeholders and client-facing teams regarding project profitability, special projects, and other ad hoc reporting needs.

  • Play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of new initiatives and special projects, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Communicate and educate A&M Tax professionals globally on finance policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes, tools, and activities that support the practice and our people, liaising with Corporate Finance and other business units as needed.


Requirements:


  • Experience: 2-4 years of financial analysis experience in a professional services or similar environment.


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Business or Accounting.

Skills and Experience:


  • Strong financial modelling and reporting skills, with the ability to dive deep into data while keeping the big picture in focus.

  • Creative problem solver with strong quantitative and analytical abilities.

  • Able to identify and drive change by thinking "out of the box"

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build relationships with individuals across all levels of seniority.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing tight deadlines and balancing multiple tasks.

  • Adaptable and responsive to changing demands and priorities.

  • Strong work ethic with meticulous attention to detail.


Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including PowerPoint and Outlook, with advanced expertise in Excel.

  • Preferred knowledge of advanced analytical and visualization tools such as Power BI or Alteryx.

The salary range is $80,000 - $85,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
