What are we looking for?

The EMC Engineer is responsible for independently performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian and other International EMC/EMI standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do


  • Independently conducting evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s)
  • Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test)
  • Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing while following an established test plan
  • Supply information for quotes such as length of project, samples, and standards that will be used
  • Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators, amplifiers, surge generator etc.
  • Basic use of hand tools as needed
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment and document simple repairs on EUT as needed
  • Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude
  • Work closely with lead/ crew members and take direction to complete projects within certain policies and procedures
  • Daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work site, vehicles and organize all tools and materials
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
  • Compile data and product description and type final report using established report shell
  • Follow sample handling procedures, ensuring that sample is logged in and out of the system
  • Perform other work as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, electrical engineering preferred
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment is essential.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
