Product Manager - summary:
FedLine is the Fed’s nation-wide electronic payments and information delivery network, which transacts over 70 million payments valued at more than $5 trillion every day. We are seeking a Product Manager to join our team, empathize with customers, and develop new products for the FedLine portfolio.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of products. You will develop a strategic product roadmap which guides execution which balances customer demand with market and industry research, innovation, and technical debt. You will own epics and features that ensure successful delivery. You will support our transition to the cloud and continuously improve our customers’ experience. We are looking for the right candidate that has experience with leading and developing financial services products (e.g. Information Services, Directory Services) that support core payment services such Wire, ACH, Check, Cash etc.
The Product Manager supports the development of the product roadmap, creates business cases, develops high-level requirements, and writes features to deliver value to customers. You will gather market research and are highly attuned to our customer’s needs, wants, and pain points. You collaborate with other Product Managers and partners with technical, marketing, analytical and research subject-matter-expertise to bring a new product or feature to market. The level of work required is considered advanced, and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This position does not have direct reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will contribute to defining the strategic vision for the product portfolio; and will have ownership of select products in the portfolio.
You will identify opportunities for product enhancements based on industry expertise, customer feedback and market research.
You will collaborate with product managers to set product priorities and maintain the product roadmap; you act as the point of intake for product improvements from internal stakeholders.
You will assist in the development of business cases and other presentation collateral to ensure alignment across Federal Reserve System workgroups.
You will write epics and features, working with a cross-functional development team to bring them to market.
You will partner with subject-matter-experts from sales, marketing, analytics, research, user-experience design, architecture, security, engineering, customer support, and elsewhere to craft your strategy and execute it.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience as noted below
5 or more years of relevant work experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Product Management principles and methodologies
Familiarity with pertinent technology and software applications
Understanding of the payments industry, its key stakeholders, and the Federal Reserve Banks’ product suite
Embodies the principle of customer and stakeholder empathy
Demonstrates initiative, is well organized, and communicates clearly
An eager life-long learner
Confidently makes decisions based upon available information, and easily pivots as conditions change.
Experience operating products in the cloud is preferred
Experience working with cross-functional software development teams and strong understanding of the lifecycle of high-availability technical products and services
Understanding of telecommunications networking, software application development & integration, and file/message transfer is a plus
Experience with Scaled agile methodologies and Jira is a plus
Locations:
Hybrid, on-site requirement will be determined by hiring district
The selected candidate will reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the employing Reserve Bank and will work full-time onsite or in a hybrid arrangement that meets the minimum number of onsite days required by the employing District. Reasonable commuting distance to a Reserve Bank's main office is defined according to the District’s policies and practices.
