State Street's Technology Platform Engineering & Operations division is seeking an experienced hands-on, dynamic and analytical finance and data specialist to join our organization as part of a new Cloud FinOps team.
Responsibilities include:
Creating costs and savings dashboards for executive reporting to promote efficiency initiatives.
Financial Analysis: Conducting in depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. This may involve analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Cost Optimization: Identifying and implementing strategies to optimize costs and improve financial efficiency. This may involve analyzing expenditure patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and making recommendations for cost reduction initiatives.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing financial analysis, insights, and recommendations. This may involve analyzing historical data, market trends, and business objectives to develop accurate financial projections.
Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial reports, presentations, and dashboards to provide insights and updates to management and stakeholders. This may involve analyzing financial data, creating visualizations, and communicating key findings and recommendations.
Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement within financial operations and implementing effective solutions. This may involve streamlining financial processes, implementing automation tools, and enhancing reporting capabilities.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in cloud financial management. Drive continuous improvement in FinOps practices and processes within the organization. Actively participate in knowledge sharing, training, and mentorship to build FinOps capabilities across teams.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to cloud spending. Implement controls and governance mechanisms to prevent unauthorized spending and optimize resource utilization. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address any cloud-related audit findings or compliance issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with various departments, such as finance, operations, and IT, to gather data, understand business requirements, and support financial decision-making.
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
Knowledge of cloud services costs, including experience with building allocation methodologies for appropriate spread of shared services.
Knowledge of the core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, invoicing, charge back, accruals...etc.)
Ability to properly structure, model and visualize cloud platform data to support decision making.
Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to leaders.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to operate successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization.
Basic knowledge of public cloud players.
Experience in building data ingestion, data catalog and data analytics framework.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of financial services experience preferably with Cloud FinOps/Cloud Spend optimization.
Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, and/or cloud financial analytics/reporting tools.
Knowledge of cloud services costs or experience with building allocation methodologies for appropriate spread of shared services preferred.
Ability to foster strong relationships across client organizations, including good personal and working relationships with end users.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $132,500 Annual
