State Street (STT) is looking for a seasoned media relations executive to join its Global Public Relations team reporting to the global head of PR. Specializing in media relations, this candidate will be driven, and looking to take their career to the next level. They will have strong relationships with top-tier business and financial trade publications and be expert at proactively pitching complex stories, as well as experience managing reputational issues. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, global environment, demonstrating a 'client-service' approach for our internal stakeholders. They will be outcome-driven and be skillful at producing compelling reports and analysis that demonstrate campaign results or objectives have been achieved. This candidate will have very strong writing/editing skills, well-versed in developing media-engaging social/digital content, be exceptionally well organized and have high attention to detail.

This role will focus on developing and executing global PR strategy for State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management arm for State Street. He or she will work closely with the regional and global PR teams, business marketing functions, SSGA and STT leadership and PR agencies on a daily basis to ensure media opportunities for key spokespeople are identified and leveraged, and that all necessary processes and policies are followed.

What you will be responsible for

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with:

o Building differentiated earned media platforms

o Reputation and issues management

o Serving as a media handler for senior executives

o Adept at understanding how to navigate complex industries and large organizations

o Support with developing executive communications platforms

o Building and retaining strong relationships with local, trade and national media

o Ability to develop and execute on communications planning and messaging

o Strong writing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

o Experience developing reports on media metrics and analytics

o Media relations and PR experience across corporate functions including Inclusion and Diversity, CSR and ESG

o Knowledge of the financial services industry and Fintech knowledge is preferred

What we value

o Work with colleagues on the internal PR team, global marketing and external agencies to create, refine and deliver differentiated media driven activity in support of the firm's corporate PR strategy and State Street's individual business units' objectives

o Develop media campaign strategies around the business' latest thought leadership, including topics such as asset stewardship, retirement, emerging markets, quantitative investing and private credit. Develop or strengthen relationships with global, national and regional press contacts both within our day-to-day business.

o Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and partners to align PR strategy with business objectives

o Independently own programs/campaigns from concept through to execution

o Compose and edit content including press releases, bylines, talking points, media briefings social and digital media

o Support media interactions of business stakeholders at industry conferences

Education & Preferred Qualifications

o Bachelor's degree

o Minimum 12-15 years of experience in communications/public relations fields with a track record of successful developing relationships with reporters and securing coverage

o Ideal candidate will have significant experience in asset management and extensive relationships with relevant journalists covering the industry.

o In house or previous agency experience both considered

o Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills

o Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines

o Strong command of traditional, digital, social and integrated marketing tactics

o A consummate team player with a can-do attitude

Salary Range:
$135,000 - $210,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
