Major Responsibilities:
Inspect the finished product at 24-hour check to ensure all critical parameters have been met, both physical and chemical, and keep orderly records of the same.
Perform daily calibration of lab instrumentation as well as schedule and maintain records of outside services.
Remain alert to unusual conditions that could cause losses for our company.
Work in cooperation with other departments to identify and solve problems that are related to production and storage.
Maintain firm control over and thoroughly investigate held goods.
Strive to identify the root causes of errors or defects and keep accurate records, which will assist in effective follow-up and correction of recurring problems.
Coordinate rework and release of held goods with production and inventory control.
Maintain inventory of lab and office supplies.
Fill unit sample orders and coordinate case shipments with shipping/repack.
Serve as a trainer for specified duties in QA.
Responsible for ensuring food safety in all aspects and if necessary reporting food safety problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
Serve as HACCP team member.
Work with supervision to arrive at the best decisions to ensure safe and proper disposition of nonconforming products. Use good judgment to decide when to hold finished goods.
Report any unsafe acts and/or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
Follow and ensure all employees follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements:
High school diploma preferred
Good ability to follow detailed instructions, whether written or verbal. Takes notes as needed to ensure follow-up of verbal instructions.
Good record-keeping is essential in QA work.
Works cooperatively with others to investigate and solve problems.
Able to be assertive when necessary to ensure that product quality or safety is not compromised by daily production demands such as speed or cost control.
Possess the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting product legality and safety.
Maintain excellent attendance record

Possess basic math skills
Physical Requirements:

Works with all plant operations, offices, buildings, and grounds to assure the company’s compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA regulations, the Master Sanitation Schedule, and Customer Sanitation expectations and contribute to a safe and healthy environment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Clean and remove foreign materials and products from, around, and under machines, equipment, conveyors, and from the plant floor, and racking using brushes, cleaning towels, industrial vacuum, and air hoses.
Hand sweeps floor areas inaccessible to cleaning machines and picks up scrap.
Keep working areas in packaging, processing, warehouse, maintenance, and offices clean and in orderly condition.
Assist and support department teams to enhance production in work centers
Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by reading and following all plant safety regulations.
Operate an industrial vacuum cleaner.
Attaches battery charger to industrial sweeper/scrubber to recharge for the designated length of time.
Work at various heights to clean overhead fixtures.
Removes clutter, such as stacks of pallets.
Clean drains, sinks, eye wash stations, drinking fountains, doors, and fire extinguishers.
Check and fill soap and towel dispensers.
Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, to minimize risk to personnel and damage to inventory and equipment.
Collect trash from work areas and dump it into the compactor.
Perform preventive sanitation maintenance on production lines and on selected machinery/equipment.
Operate a floor scrubber
Complete a master sanitation schedule for all areas of the plant.
Notify management when replacement or repair of cleaning equipment, the physical plant, and outside grounds is needed.
Read follows, and documents downtime on Sanitor Work Orders.
Pick up, sort, stack, and band items.
Mix fluids and cleaning solutions according to the formula.
Clean snow, ice, and debris from the sidewalk.
Pick up refuse from plant grounds.
Perform post-cleaning evaluations of random areas with a member of management.
Make suggestions for operational procedures and equipment.
Assist in training new sanitation personnel and cross-training current employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Must know packaging line operation to position equipment for cleaning
Must become knowledgeable of lock-out tag-out point locations
Demonstrates high-quality standards of workmanship by observing and following Standard Operating Procedures.
Responds appropriately to supervisory staff.
Models responsible behavior by maintaining good attendance, punctuality, initiative, and completing work tasks efficiently, effectively, and safely.
Possess a high school diploma or GED.
Complete forklift training and all other required lift equipment.
Employees must be able to complete specific training on selected equipment that is pertinent to the assigned work area(s).
SQF:
Responsible for reporting any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Responsible for following cGMP’s. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping. Follow all appropriate equipment cleaning procedures
Work Environment:
This position is in a manufacturing plant environment, works around moving mechanical parts, is exposed to airborne particles, works with toxic chemicals, and works around motorized vehicles.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
