Responsibilities
A Program Manager on SAM’s team is responsible for managing multiple projects and project managers, overseeing large, complex projects, working with senior leadership and working with the growth organization to increase market share and acting as the subject matter expert for their assigned agency/customer/contract. Position requires experience with projects that include airborne topographic and topo-bathymetric lidar, geomatics, GIS, and remote sensing. Preferred experience managing projects for USGS, USACE, NAVFAC and NOAA. Experience in 3DEP, 3DHP, DCA and acoustic sonar technologies is also a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to perform these duties satisfactorily.
All tasks relating to Program/Project Management
Establish work plan and staffing requirements for multiple large-scale projects
Oversees writing of scope, budget, and related QA/QC procedures
Identify and participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operational efficiency
Review project performance data (financial, budgets, sales, and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels
Monitor and develop professional staff participation to maximize their potential
Proposal technical approach development, pricing, and prepare responses to RFQs
Work with Market Leads and Market Managers to establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area
Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders
Effectively interface with subconsultants and as well as other business relationships
Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed
Participate in Business Development activities to drive growth and expansion of current projects and programs
Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals
Qualifications
Undergraduate and/or Graduate degree or 10+ years in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
PMP and/or Professional License preferred
5+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
Successful experience in contract negotiations, budgets, and fee estimates
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team
Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects
Demonstrated leadership skills to manage multiple cross-functional service lines to include registered surveyors, geospatial analysts, technicians, aerial acquisition and field crews to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, and networking
Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements
PMP Certification granted by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
