Job Description:

SUMMARY
Notifies or locates customers with delinquent Consumer accounts, and attempts to secure payment by performing the following duties;

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Mails form letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
Confers with customer by telephone in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with customer.
Negotiates workout arrangements on consumer/mortgage loans.
Contacts delinquent account customers in person when necessary.
Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts.
Orders service disconnection, prepares information for repossession of collateral.
Works one on one with;

MGIC (insurance) representative, with respect to mortgages.
USDA
Fannie Mae
Law Firms in our foot print
Local Magistrate's office
Commercial/Consumer/Mortgage Loan Officers as well as Deposit Ops.

Sorts and scans correspondence.
Prepares civil complaints, attends civil hearings and Sheriff sale's when necessary.
Receives payment and prepares amount paid to customer account for teller posting.
Uses all resources available to trace customers.
This job does not require teller capabilities. It does require maintenance capabilities.
Reviews various reports such as Delinquency reports and maturity loan reports.
At times, prepares reports for monthly Delinquency meeting with Board members
Assists in research when problems occur on loan/deposit accounts.
Assists in loan workouts.
Works on special projects as necessary.
Maintains current knowledge of and adhere to the BSA Policy.
Helps co-workers with collecting when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, client, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, bonuses, etc.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule fore.
