We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our East Region's Risk Management team. This position will be based in New York or Philadelphia.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Utilizing authority to underwrite and price business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.
Establishing and maintaining broker relationships in the New York region with a concentration on primary casualty business.
Assisting in development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
Working collaboratively with home office, marketing & distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal in an effort to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of primary casualty insurance placements.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
College degree preferred, with a minimum of 5+years of experience underwriting Primary Casualty insurance.
CPCU, CRIS, ARM or other insurance certifications are a plus
Should have experience and/or expertise in working with a broad array of program structures - everything from guaranteed cost to large deductibles and captive programs.
Existing relationships with East brokers handling primary casualty business and/or direct client relationships required.
Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$145,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
