Location: Hardin Hall 126
Description
The Department of Philosophy and Religion is seeking to hire a philosopher at a senior or advanced junior rank whose philosophical research profile and promise corresponds with Clemson's Carnegie R1 designation and whose teaching will contribute to the vitality of our thriving undergraduate program. We especially encourage applicants at the full and associate level. The typical course load is 2/2.
AOS: Value theory (including but not exclusively social/political philosophy, aesthetics, and ethical theory), Metaphysics, or Epistemology.
AOC: The department values candidates with broad philosophical interests who can teach across, and contribute to expanding, the offerings of our undergraduate program. The AOC is thus open, but the department has teaching interests in the following areas, in addition to those AOS areas listed above: the history of philosophy (ancient, early modern, and 19th century), continental philosophy, aesthetics, logic and philosophy of language.
