Preschool Lead Teachers

Community Leadership Academy’s Pre-K program is designed to offer parents a high-quality choice in early childhood education and to ensure every child is prepared for a smooth transition into kindergarten. The program is based on the best practices in early learning and the Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence. It provides an opportunity for parents to jump start their child's education in a nurturing, creative, explorative, and developmentally appropriate environment.

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the delivery of instruction, care, discipline, and the preparation of instructional materials and keeping the classroom clean and well-organized for four-year-old Pre-kindergarten students.

· Licensing application / renewal

· Coordinate school advisory council meetings

· Attend Colorado Preschool Program advisory council meetings

· Comply with School Readiness Act

· Improve and expand PK programming

· Maintain Colorado Shines accreditation

· Provide / ensure staff receive required yearly trainings

· Teaching Strategies Gold management and implementation

Requirements / Qualifications:

· Teacher qualification as required by Colorado Office of Early Childhood Division of Early Care and Learning

· Current CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions certification (or willing to obtain within first 30 days)

· Strong organizational, planning and implementation skills

· Experience or knowledge of Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence and Spalding phonics, preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

· Work effectively with colleagues

· Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions

· Meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job

· Maintains a positive attitude
