Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Finance in a multi-faceted, multi-location academic and administration setting, provides financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting for Treasury and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX).
Supports the Director, Corporate Finance and executive management by providing timely reporting and analysis operational key drivers and process improvement opportunities.
Participates as an integral part of the finance team. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Tracking of capital spend.
Updating capital spend forecast on a monthly basis.
Managing communications with the Director, Corporate Finance and VP Finance & Accounting and serving as a trusted resource between finance and capital spend departments (CIO, VP Real estate and Facilities).
Supporting accounting function in the validation of spend.
Preparing Excel support and PowerPoint presentations for Executive and Board level audience.
Coordinating with accounting team and tracking cash balances and near-term operating cash needs.
Reporting current market data on treasury rates and preparing recommendations based on internal and market data.
Assists in forecasting 5-year plan financials including P&L, Capex, depreciation, and interest.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
Master's degree in accounting, cost accounting, finance, business administration or related field preferred.
Knowledge/Experience:
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
Experience in a senior level financial analyst position with appropriate/equivalent industry and/or with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted, multi-location direction and planning.
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in for-profit setting, investment, and treasury functions.
Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
Knowledge of automated financial reporting systems, specifically Planful (fka Host Analytics) and advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated experience preparing Executive level presentations in PowerPoint.
