Primary Function of Position:

The Sr. Instructional Designer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of mission critical learning programs, including but not limited to online learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual sessions. Development will focus on the sales & marketing training of our Intuitive products, using programs such as Rise 360, Storyline 360, and Microsoft Office. The Sr. Instructional Designer will also be responsible for taking an active role in onboarding and mentoring Instructional Designers, managing large cross-departmental projects, driving process improvement, and conducting needs/gap analysis to improve deliverables and learning outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content

  • Identify and craft sound and measurable learning objectives

  • Design and develop training content that addresses identified learning objectives, engages learners, uses appropriate training modalities and interventions, and adheres to adult learning principles

  • Lead the evaluation of learning content using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to drive design/development improvements, and conduct stakeholder read-outs

  • Conduct peer review of deliverables to ensure instructional soundness and adherence to brand standards, and provide guidance as needed

  • Manage review cycles with multiple SMEs and stakeholders, and collate and implement feedback

  • Project manage all phases of learning projects - analysis, design, development, implementation & evaluation

  • Mentor Instructional Designers

  • Drive change through need/gap analysis, focus groups, etc.

  • Analyze process improvement opportunities to include defining, writing, and piloting process workflows

  • Partner with internal and external teams to drive strategic improvements

  • Research, recommend, and manage 3rd party training solutions

Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Minimum 8-10 yrs. relevant professional experience

  • Minimum 1-2 yrs. experience in biotech or medical device organization preferred

  • Prior experience in sales training and/or supporting commercial teams preferred

  • Education Background

  • Curriculum Development, Adult Education and/or Instructional Design/Technology degree preferred

  • Masters Degree or Advanced Degree, required

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Comprehensive experience designing and developing eLearning, instructor-led training, assessments, and blended learning solutions

  • Demonstrated application of adult learning theory, analysis tools and process, evaluation tools and models, assessment best practices, and learning objective construction

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing a large curriculum and/or curricula

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines, and adapt to project changes

  • Experience working with SMEs in a team environment

  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to define and document processes

  • Ability to identify problems and roadblocks and provide suggested solutions

  • Ability to foster and create strong working relationships

  • Ability to coach and provide feedback

  • MS Office (Word, Power-Point, Excel)

  • Camtasia

  • Smartsheet (Preferred)

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $123,000 - $177,000
Base Salary Range Region 2: $104,600 - $150,500
Shift: Day
Travel: 25% of the time
Workplace Type: Purposeful Onsite - This job requires being onsite for leader-defined events and activities which could be monthly/annually. Onsite frequency may increase based on business need.
