What we do:

This position resides in the Technology Group’s Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance Team. In this role you will be responsible for researching and developing security architecture reference documentation, patterns and other related artifacts that align with FRS policies and industry best practices. 

You will coordinate closely with FRBNY and FRS solution architects to support the implementation of secure business applications to cloud and on-prem environments.

Your role as Information Security Architect:


  • Designing and developing security architectures for cloud and cloud/hybrid systems based on business, functional and security requirements.


  • Creating architectures that minimize cyber risks impacting the integrity, availability, or confidentiality of FRBNY organizational assets through collaboration and partnership with National and 3rd party partners.


  • Developing differentiated security patterns based on business requirements and/or sensitivity of the assets being protected. E.g., critical payment systems vs. systems that host publicly available information.


  • Executing threat model analysis and authoring detailed specifications to identify & reduce risk.


  • Representing cyber security in the development and implementation of the overall enterprise cloud architecture.


  • Collaborate with other information security architects in the creation of new mitigating controls where a sufficient mitigation does not previously exist for a threat


  • Analyzing, designing, and developing roadmaps and implementation plans


  • Participating in policy development, standards, guidelines, and procedures


  • Evaluating the current architecture to identify security weaknesses and developing opportunities for improvements


  • Researching and evaluating emerging technology


What we are looking for:


  • Demonstrated experience designing information Security Architecture using Industry standard frameworks


  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS family, Linux and TCP/IP networking required.


  • Enterprise experience working with CSPs (AWS, Azure, Google)


  • Technical expertise in systems administration and security tools


  • Experience with cloud-based security tools (AWS CloudTrail, Azure Sentinel, Google Chronicle), automation toolsets (Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, or Terraform) and system configuration tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)


  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe practices


  • Familiarity with TOGAF and other industry architecture frameworks


Salary Range: $207900 - $238500 / year
