Job Description:

As the Customer Development Manager , you will be responsible to direct activity and overall resource management for a mid-sized (20-30 person) regional technical team that is developing products for multiple Auto OEM customers. You must implement strategic plans, mobilize resources, and motivate people while maintaining an excellent understanding of safe operating procedures/behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the portfolio of projects in multiple technologies and across multiple customers and ensure customers are supported with creative solutions.
• Align activities to strategic goals and distribute resources across projects and customer teams to support our strategy
• Assess project value and set priorities across portfolio and promote cross-fertilization between diverse technical areas
• Lead personnel management and development activities focusing on engagement, innovation, cross-functionality, and project leadership for managers and individual contributors
• Collaborate with other functional leaders in PPG commercial, product management, operations, and others on the strategic goals
• Influence the organization to find solutions to challenges and opportunities and align projects/resources to ensure implementation of strategic process improvement and cost reduction programs
• Provide insight on customer priorities and goals to guide strategy development and work with product managers and product development team to determine and implement regional technical strategy
• Globally recognized as an expert in the global technical product line and may be called upon for as a technology expert for others outside of their project area and for high-level customer interface on a global basis.
• Travel up to 10%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Science Degree in Chemistry or related Engineering or Science field
• Previous management experience
