JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Supervisor and at times the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for all facets of accounting for all Nabors’ equity investments, the applicable consolidation eliminations, Oracle system maintenance, cash flow statements, reconciliations, intercompany balances, internal management report preparation, assist on some financial reporting and special projects as required.  Must be able to work with multiple tasks ongoing at the same time.  Communications with various departments and business units is necessary to complete month end tasks.

    

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Intercompany Process


  • Ensure the intercompany transactions/balances eliminate on a monthly basis

  • Requires reporting, investigation, communication and follow-up with various business unit personnel

2. Financial Reporting


  • Prepare the Condensed Consolidated Footnote to be included in the Form 10Q and Form 10K

  • Prepare the Cash Flow Statement to be included in the Form 10Q and Form 10K

  • Prepare various Footnotes and work with external auditors

  • Prepare internal management reports as required

3. Financial Account Reconciliation


  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations


  • Requires interrogation of our Financial reporting system to analyze transactional activity and balances to ensure proper Financial Reporting

4. Monthly Rollforwards

• Prepare monthly analysis of various corporate fees to be used during the internal management monthly SG&A review

5. Equity Investments


  • Account for all capital contributions and the applicable eliminations

  • Account for all intercompany asset transfers or contributions

  • Work with the legal department and tax department to properly account for the creation of new legal entities

  • Work with the legal department and tax department to properly account for all legal structure changes

6. System Maintenance


  • Assist in maintaining the Financial System Chart of Accounts

  • Create new companies, new combinations and enable accounting strings

  • Keep the various reporting hierarchies updated

7. Special Projects


  • Assist in various special projects on a regular basis

  • Assist with quarterly and annual budgets including cash forecasts

8. Other


  • While some limited work from home opportunities exist, this position requires that the candidate to work from the

  • Corporate office the majority of the time especially during monthly, quarterly and annual, period end close

  • Overtime will be necessary during monthly close, quarterly and annual reporting

  • Opportunities for advancement extend

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • 4+ years progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus

  • Experience with equity accounting, foreign currency and Hyperion/Oracle ERP preferred

  • Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant a plus
