Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Downstream Planning Leader at our Columbia, MO location. As the Downstream Planning Leader, you will be the key representative for supply chain in all things production- striving to continuously improve output levels within the plant.

What do you get to do in this position?


  • Responsible to receive the Distribution Requirement Planning from all Lines of Business, challenge its accuracy, when consensus is achieved, upload forecast into SAP.

  • Lead monthly MPP (Manufacturing Production Plan) with the other functions like Methods, Production, Quality, Supply chain, etc.

  • Design the organization of internal flows (physical and informational) according to SPS (Schneider Performance System) rules and update internal stock (Kanban) parameters in collaboration with SC performance.

  • Actively participate in decisions on plant capacity- short term & long term on buy or make decisions

  • Participate in plant Value Stream Mapping (current & future state) and leading the continuous improvement of Product Lead Time with SC performance & methods.

  • Monitor and improve the downstream SC performance at plant level for key performance metrics


  • Work closely with production teams to improve current processes and efficiencies leading to output performance.

  • Ensure needs/resources balance (MRP) for raw material, components, sub-assemblies and finished products by managing the customer's needs (customer order + CCMP's) and the replenishment backlog.

  • Coordinate queue management and/or production scheduling.

  • Ensure products availability by taking actions to solve backorders and shortages.

  • Manage the customer needs coming from the CCC's through the Customer Claim Management Process

  • Manage the replenishment backlog (creation and rescheduling of the manufacturing and purchase orders)

  • Manage the backorder portfolio (BOL), the shortage and take actions to ensure the availability of product

  • Daily action regarding MRP messages (SAP example: MD07) and escalate when repeatable issues

  • Actively participate in SIM Cycle 2

  • Support stock discrepancies analysis and support adjustments

  • Support of downstream flows to improve the manufacturing SC performance

This job might be for you if:


  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, International Business, Industrial Engineer or according

  • Experience of at least 4-5 years in Planning Materials, Procurement & Purchasing.

  • Fluent in English

  • Desirable to have experience with SAP

  • Skills: Proactive, results driven, teamwork, urgency sense, leadership.
