Job Description:

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Public Awareness & Damage Prevention Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Company's Public Awareness and Damage Prevention Programs including all procedures and guidelines for Enterprise's liquid and natural gas pipeline systems.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Assist and support the development, improvement, maintenance and implementation of the Company’s Public Awareness and Damage Prevention Programs to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.

  • Track all pipeline damages and near misses within the Company's Damage Prevention Reporting Tool; develop and distribute monthly, quarterly, and yearly damage and near miss reports to management; participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses for all pipeline damages and near misses.

  • Create and file all damage and near miss reports as required by state and federal agencies.

  • Responsible for interpretation of all applicable State and Federal hazardous liquids and natural gas pipeline regulations and reporting requirements; and conduct impact evaluations on proposed changes to same regulations as they affect Public Awareness and Damage Prevention.

  • Provide technical and other guidance/assistance to intra-company departments (i.e., Pipeline Integrity, Land, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, Operations, etc.) regarding Public Awareness and Damage Prevention compliance issues and other requests.

  • Provide guidance and interpretation of the API RP 1162 Public Awareness Standard as well as other related industry best practices.

  • Develop and maintain the distribution of the Company’s annual pipeline safety brochure mailing.

  • Represent the Company on various industry committees to include API, CAMO, CGA, etc.

 

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:


  • A Bachelor’s or Engineering degree is required.

  • 1 to 3 years prior experience with Public Awareness/Damage Prevention programs is preferred.

  • Knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 with an emphasis on 192.614; 192.616; 195.440; 195.442; API RP 1162; and the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) Best Practices is preferred.

  • Previous experience in the energy industry such as Operations, Engineering, Compliance or Mapping is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Adobe Professional, Google Earth and Bing Maps are preferred.
