As a Regional Business Manager with Manitowoc Cranes you will manage the business in the assigned region to meet revenue, order intake, market share, and margin objectives; build relationships with dealers, key accounts and end users to maximize sales opportunities and manage customer expectations regarding new product availability and pricing and resolves customer issues regarding the same. You will be responsible to maintain records of sales activities and contacts through the company's CRM system, to represent the company with integrity and a professional image in the assigned territory. "Owns" the customer relationship serving as company point person for all sales and other issues, leads engagement of internal resources as necessary to support issues resolution. Monitors and reports regional market conditions including political and economic factors that drive the company’s performance. Develop and implement tools to assist with the distribution channels selling effort. Interact with MCC based personnel on matters pertaining to sales material, product requirements, availability and code compliance. Facilitate "Voice of the Customer" input into the new product development process. Manage and maintain a profitable sales territory.
This position is remote, if living outside the Shady Grove area, and reports to the VP of Sales in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.
Essential Job Functions:
Builds relationships with distributors, key accounts, end users, and influencers to create sales opportunities. Represents the company with integrity. Ensures customer needs are addressed.
Manages use of people and resources internally to meet external customer expectations. Communicates availability and pricing effectively and addresses any issues with shifting supply or demand. Ensures legal requirements/agreements are adhered to; Ensures sales are within budget; follows up to ensure sales completion.
Manage and maintain a territory of distributors and customers focusing on distributor development and growth of the product Facilitate issues resolution between distributor/customer and Manitowoc.
Provide and offer recommended inventory stocking to distributors. Conduct quarterly business planning with distributors.
Understand and learn the crane market and competition. Provide market intel based on competitive and customer knowledge.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing in National/International sales of construction equipment OR a High School diploma with a minimum of 13 years’ experience in Crane Sales / Service or other construction equipment related fields required.
Candidate must have sales and relationship building skills.
Requires up to 65% travel - domestic and minimal international travel – must have passport or ability to acquire
Plans travel with distribution channel to discuss business plan and sales forecast objectives. Visits key distributors and customers on a scheduled basis to keep them informed of company plans and achievements. Support distributor salesperson efforts to sell company products. Participate in regional expositions that benefit the company, local distributor and customer base. Support and maintain open lines of communications to facilitate flow of company information to distribution channel.
