SUM MARY
Paragon Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Detention Management Unit Administrator for El Paso, TX at the Service Processing Center.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews facility population count/data documents to identify, in real-time data, for accurate facility population counts.
Approve and deny all population movements in and out of the EPSPC, all dorms, housing units, and other areas that may be assigned.
Prepares and delivers detainee-related reports; assists in resolving errors; types, retrieves, and files detainee documentation; and maintains documentation files, prints assemble, organizes, and arranges board tags on count room board; receives, compiles, and performs data entry of lay-in information; prints and distributes lay-in passes and rosters; and assists with detainee housing in compliance with legal, medical, and custody requirements.
Other administrative duties pertaining to EPSPC PBNDS 2011 (rev 2016) requirements.
* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
US Citizen or LPR
Not currently employed by a federal agency or active-duty military
HS Graduate or GED
3 -year detention experience
Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
At least one year of administrative/clerical experience
Ability to timely and accurate reports in Word and Excel Formats
English literacy and ability to write reports in English.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Capable of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations.
English literacy and ability to write reports in English.
Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
Ability to use Computer Programs, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of business terminology, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.
Knowledge of DMU procedures preferred.
Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, and organizations.
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Skill in problem-solving techniques.
Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
Skill to type 45 words per minute (with no more than 10 errors)
Pass/Valid Public Trust Clearance
English literacy and ability to write reports in English.
Ability to timely and accurate reports in Word and Excel Format
Preferred
Current Government Background Check
Bachelor's degree from Accredited University (Preferred)
Clerical, secretarial, administrative support, or technical program support experience.
NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Applicants must also be able to at times respond to physical disturbances that are violent in nature. Must be able to defend self and others during violent confrontations, and respond to emergency events, such as riots and disturbances.
DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Essential job functions will require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing, and complex movements for prolonged periods of time. Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular hours.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to a detention camp. Must have reliable transportation to/from work as a necessity and must be able to obtain access to the detention camp.

Overall combined test scores (based on Written and Oral Board) will be selected.
