The Pump/Valve Technician works within the Maintenance Department to manage the Pump and Valve Rebuild Program. Other duties include that of a Level I Maintenance Mechanic - controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repair and preventive maintenance
Schedule: 3rd shift - Base schedule is 5 days/week at 8 hours per shift, Maintenance work rotating shift days for weekend coverage and often work overtime hours
Pay Rate: Level I starting at $24.77/hour + shift differential. Automatic pay increases go into effect 07/10/2023. Insurance Benefits start 1st of the month after hire. Vacation effective 1st of month after 6 months.
Manage Pump and Valve Rebuild Program under the guidance of Department Leaders.
Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
Uses basic plumbing and general facilities and building maintenance knowledge as needed.
Complete assigned work orders correctly and professionally.
Utilize the lock out tag out program.
Trouble-shoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures.
Performs plumbing and pipe fitting as needed.
Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines.
Operates Rich's SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork.
Trains new Maintenance Department Associates and team members as needed.
Will be required to work with and train operations Associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assist operations as needed with production.
Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Team Leader.
* Must have High School Diploma or GED/equivalent education with 1-3 years experience in manufacturing (food processing preferred)
* Must have general mechanical knowledge and electrical knowledge as demonstrated by passing an internal test
* Must have basic plumbing and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge
* Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Must have the ability to train other Associates in Maintenance operations
* Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
* Must be proficient on Rich's SCADA system
* Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
* Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
* Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
* Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned
The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform for this position are as follows:
* Moderate degree of physical activity.
* Continuous standing and frequent walking.
* Frequent bending and reaching.
* Frequent stair/ladder climbing.
* May handle potentially hazardous equipment or material.
* Works in a cool, wet environment.
* Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
