PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Sr Manager, Customer Marketing (Instore Bakery/Deli Direct Chains) will:
Be responsible for developing and executing Division strategies and programs for complex, large impact, strategic customers
Lead the development and execution of strategic segment plans and integrated marketing plans
Serve as a critical liaison between Product management and Sales, ensuring that customer and consumers' needs are met, while driving innovative solutions to the market
Accountable for building awareness and understanding of Rich's brand, products, and value proposition with Direct Chains team and customers
Supporting our solutions-based selling model and delivering with actionable insights and tools, driving demand and market penetration through demand creation activities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Strategy
Provide Customer and Shopper input to the strategic planning process; Owns customer marketing direct chains situation analysis, customer portfolio analysis and customer prioritization model (align with sales) and Customer/Shopper opportunity/risk identification (collaborate with BI)
Collaborate on the execution of the Bakery Transformation initiative. Act as subject matter expert in shopper marketing insights, merchandising and promotion techniques to help drive business for our customers and for Rich's.
Align with stakeholders to integrate strategy initiatives into portfolio plans; Gain stakeholder alignment on key enablers, requirements, and resources to execute strat plan
Consult with Product Managers on brand strategy development (Rich's and sub brands)
Demand Creation
Lead consumer promotion and demand creation strategy for direct chains by leveraging shopper insights and digital promotion tools
Partner and collaborate with CBU, DC COE, and Ecom teams to develop comprehensive marketing plans to advance strategy execution and drive portfolio
Leverage digital marketing, social media and other marketing levers and capabilities to further build awareness of our portfolio with customers, drive engagement and fuel the opportunity pipeline.
Understand and be well-versed with the product portfolio that aligns with the Division strategy and collaborate with bakery technicians to develop applications that align with customer needs
Provide support for trade shows, customer events, and key customer visits as it relates to planning, product presentation, merchandising, and market intelligence.
Accountable for Integrated Marketing Plan for branded products for direct chains customer marketing
Partner with Strategic Insights to develop and deploy insights to customers
Sales/Customer
Accountable for direct chains channel/customer portfolio analysis and prioritization recommendation
Pursue opportunities to broaden the Rich Experience for our customers and gain stronger market position within direct chains business
Define account planning strategies that may leverage cross-department promotions with strategic customersLead joint Sales and Marketing planning for Instore Bakery/Deli direct chains
Understand and be well-versed with the product portfolio that aligns with the Division strategy and collaborate with bakery technicians / culinary to develop applications that align with customer needs
Anticipate, identify, and analyze customer needs as well as market trends to maximize Rich's competitive position in the market.
Develop a keen understanding of the competition, customers and consumers, as well as a complete understanding of Rich's performance in the market
Financial
Accountable for developing and managing of ISB Direct Chains Division ADV/OM Budget.
Maintain understanding of the Division's financial performance against targets and support efforts to improve (pricing action, mix, etc.)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field required; MBA preferred
8+ years' experience in a marketing role; Experience in the food industry a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated enthusiasm and influence
Strong presentation skills, credible and trusted - ability to lead, facilitate and present to customers
Technical knowledge and experience with the latest digital marketing tools, social media and marketing automation platforms.
Proven strategic skills, specifically as it relates to customer, program, and promotional strategy
Ability to deliver impactful presentations to a wide variety of internal and external audiences, both in person and virtually
Ability to navigate ambiguity, make recommendations and execute with limited information
Proven financial skills to include P&L analysis and other analyses
Ability to influence across teams to drive business outcomes
Proven track record taking initiative and delivering results
Ability to drive results independently with limited direction
Demonstrated success in directing and guiding teams through change
Ability to build solutions to address and manage complex, multi-dimensional projects
Ability to navigate obstacles and continue to advance initiatives
Ability to travel up to 25%
