PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Utility Associate's responsibility is to support theproduction team by performing various functions associated with our manufacturing production line.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Setting up all equipment so that it will run properly (including calibration of water meter
Assisting maintenance mechanics with preventive maintenance of machinery by reporting anyproblems with operation or suspected maintenance needs;assists with greasing bearings and performing other maintenance as mechanic requests
Knowing and having the right specifications for the product being run on the line; making sure that the correct ingredients are brought to the line; if not, notifying Forklift Driver toremove and bring the correct ones
Unstacking bags of ingredients, opening the bags according to Quality Control procedures, anddumping the contents into blenders, tubs, or other machinery; these bags weigh approximately 50pounds; some of the bags must be lifted and dumped at waist level, in other areas at shoulder level
Adding the proper amount of each ingredient to the batch according to specs and batch sheets
Making sure that no contaminants (example, paper or plastic from bags, utensils or tools used to open bags) get into the batch; making sure that the batch is mixed the right length of time
Periodically checking quality measures to make sure the batch is processing properly; notifies Production Team Leader immediately of any problems, and works with QA Auditor and Team Leader to correct problems
Sweeping food debris on the floor into small piles, picking it up with a dustpan, and placing it in the proper waste container
Disposing of paper, plastic or other packaging material into the proper trash container
Pushing trash carts or carrying tubs of waste materials to proper disposal area
Using a low-pressure water hose to wash down the last traces of food debris down the drain, consistent with plant wastewater and sanitation policies
Using a rubber squeegee to push water off the floor toward and down floor drains
Preparing all batch sheets and other paperwork required for quality and production records
Assisting in the set-up and operation of other processing equipment as requested by the Team Leader or as production needs dictate
Assisting in the pre-blending preparation of materials. This will require operating a grinder
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
1 to 2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to follow directions
Punctual and reliable in their work attendance
Adhere to all safety and quality policies and practices
Ability to work as a team player
Ability to perform basic math functions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Bilingual a plus
