The Data & Services (D&S) team and solutions fuel growth for Retail and Commerce partners globally by providing cutting edge services in the areas of Loyalty, Personalisation and Business Experimentation.The CPG Segment Lead is a key leadership role in the Retail and Commerce Segment function within Strategy, Integration and Product Development in D&S. Segments provide the strategic direction for vision, products and capabilities to meet market, competitive, and client partner needs and act as a customer-first steward for our business. RoleIn this role, you will be responsible for driving our CPG practice forward, by consistently innovating, problem solving, and partnering across business lines. This role will be responsible for defining the growth strategy for the CPG segment, which is recognized as a top priority growth segment with a wealth of untapped opportunity. As such, this role reports to the VP of Emerging Segments and Strategic Initiatives.The role involves understanding current partner & market needs and trends, ensuring that Mastercard Data & Services optimizes current offerings to support these needs, as well as considers new products, capabilities and services to meet needs - now and in the future. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering data-driven, customer-focused solutions to customers, highly motivated, intellectually curious, solutions-oriented and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. Additionally, the ideal candidate is well known for being highly collaborative with the ability to influence, managing projects to flawless completion, and passionate around building successful teams. Key Responsibilities:* Manage the CPG Segment short & long term strategy and oversee tasks to completion, resolving challenges to keep all activities on scheduled timelines* Ensure Go to Market readiness for CPG products and solutions, in partnership with the Product Management and Sales teams, to drive aggressive growth in the segment and gain customer confidence* Partner with business development to create a strong, data-lead co-brand offering in the CPG space* Coordinate, prioritize, and support customer-facing discussions with Mastercard Account Management, Market Development, and Specialist Sales, as well as customer-facing teams from recent acquisitions. Works directly with customer when required.* Accountable for tracking growth and diversification targets globally* Lead the CPG Practice - providing thought leadership around trends, segment needs, and growth strategies, organizing initiatives and projects to progress the Segment agenda, and monitoring performance of delivery * Partner with New Product Development and Product Management on transformative initiatives, new solutions, and evolution of existing solutions* Provide product / solution expertise to assist in crafting customer value propositions working with Marketing and Sales Teams* Monitor customer opportunities, market intelligence and industry innovation to ensure Mastercard is providing smart solutioning* Identify potential partnerships and work with M&A and the VP, Retail Integration and Partnerships lead to evaluate opportunities* Lead discussions with industry partners, when required, and represent Mastercard at CPG industry groups and external events* Leverage technical knowledge and project management skills to apply forward thinking and reduce unforeseen challenges* Responsible for coordination of external communications teams to ensure maximization of all opportunitiesAll about You/Experience* A successful influencer in matrixed and distributed (global/regional/market) organizations * Strong background of working in or serving the CPG industry* Intimate knowledge of the key challenges faced by CPGs, particularly where D&S have a right to play - insights, analytics, data, consulting, personalization and loyalty * Deep understanding of the CPG/Retailer relationship dynamic* Thorough understanding of the CPG/Retailer ecosystem and the key components i.e. Retail Media Networks, SKU Data, etc.* Commercial acumen and experience of working directly with customers* Ability to influence and challenge* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to probe to understand customer needs* Ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally* Exceptional at relationship building, conveying credibility and confidence* Execution-oriented to drive the right outcomes for customers, partners and MastercardIn the US, Mastercard is an inclusive Equal Employment Opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
