Manatt has an exciting opportunity available for a talented business development assistant to be based in our Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco offices. As a key member of Manatt's dynamic business development and marketing team, the business professional we seek will help us meet the high expectations of sophisticated clients. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the business development team to support lawyers and consultants in driving business development initiatives that grow the firm. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a data-driven, sales-minded and strategic set of business development skills.
The successful candidate will have superior writing and research skills, be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members. The right person for this job will have strong project management skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding organizational skills, be self-motivated and have a positive attitude. This individual must be comfortable working at a fast pace while not compromising attention to detail and overall work product.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the firm's experience database including collecting information from professionals and drafting descriptions of significant engagements.
Maintain a database of collateral materials, representative matter lists and client lists.
Fulfill requests for business development materials, including bios, practice descriptions, brochures, pitch decks and capabilities presentations and respond to all inquiries as they relate to business development.
Assist in creating client proposals and RFP responses, including organizing business development materials; writing and editing copy; proofreading; and managing production, distribution and follow-up.
Assist in compiling research on strategic key clients, industries and competitors in support of business development initiatives.
Track proposals and business development opportunities and provide regular reporting. Follow up with professionals to track wins, losses and ROI.
Conduct market research regarding seminars, publications and forums and assist in identifying and securing speaking engagements.
Coordinate the production of webinar presentations, client alerts and newsletters.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Two to three years of experience, preferably in professional services with a demonstrated ability to multitask and work under pressure, juggle multiple projects, and prioritize competing needs.
Superior client service skills with ability to relate to people at all levels within the firm and demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service.
Outstanding research, analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify a problem or issue, provide analysis and recommend solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability and willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team, with a positive, can-do attitude.
Excellent communication skills, including strong writing, editorial and proofreading skills withexceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Excellent project management and organizational skills with ability to work proactively and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Proven ability to self-manage and multitask in a "lightning speed" environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.
Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands or planned events, including occasional off-site events.
Strong computer skills, including web-based research and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using Salesforce or another CRM database preferred.
The base annual pay range for this role is between $55,000-$60,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
