The Senior Manufacturing Industrial Engineer plays a key role in designing and supporting a wide range of commercial cooking equipment processes. The Engineer will be focused on line balancing, bottleneck reduction and eliminating process wastes in a single piece flow manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing:



  • Directs time and motion studies to identify opportunities to improve overall efficiency and cost savings relative to employees and facilities.

  • Analyzes data and specifications to establish reasonable time and production standards.

  • Applies industrial management techniques and principles to develop cost and time-saving recommendations and modifications to work methods, staffing requirements, wage rates, and equipment and facilities upgrades.

  • Designs and coordinates all phases of the production process using industrial engineering principles and best practices.

  • Solve complex, less clearly defined projects under limited supervision.

  • Conduct and participate in periodic reviews of work output.

  • Review blueprints, models, and PCN's (process change notice) for approval.

  • Estimate the costs, resources, and time to complete a project.

  • Champion internal process improvements and provide innovative solutions.

  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and create control plans.

  • Understand and implement statistical process control methods.

  • Complete tasks that support the overall project schedule and clearly communicates status.

  • Maintain an organized and clean environment.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Mentor level I & II Engineers and Engineering Technicians.

  • Deliver internal technical presentations.

  • Consistently models the Company Values and Expected Behaviors.

  • Other duties as assigned.




What We're Looking For:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • 10+ years manufacturing process experience desired.

  • Proven ability to solve problems and conduct root cause analysis using a data driven approach together with logical problem-solving tools and methods.

  • Experience in a single piece flow, 1x1 manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge using sequencing and kitting methods.

  • Competency in identifying and eliminating 8 manufacturing wastes: Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over Production, Over Processing, Defects and Underutilization of Skills.

  • Competency in 3M: Muda (waste), Mura (unevenness) and Muri (overburden)

  • Excellent elemental, work balance table, time study, and value steam mapping analysis knowledge.

  • Excellent understanding of operator ergonomics and Golden Zone concept.

  • Strong knowledge of workplace organization and material flow.

  • Proven ability to implement poka-yoke error and fool proofing methods.

  • Strong labor routing, required to run, and standard work development skills.

  • Excellent knowledge with continuous improvement, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of 5S principles within manufacturing.

  • Experienced with Kanban and just in time material delivery methods including timed train/tugger routes.

  • Collaborative style and a passion for learning, laughing, and achieving.

  • Ability to use hand tools and electric/air tools.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight for trainings and tradeshows.

  • Strong MS office, presentation, or PowerPoint skills.

  • Experienced in using AutoCAD to generate line layouts, TimerPro work balancing software a plus, Arena simulation software a plus.

  • Understanding of visual management principles.

  • Detail oriented and strong creativity skills, proven project management ability, ability to work with suppliers.

  • Proven process automation ability including AGV systems for material delivery/transport.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Desire to teach and provide technical leadership.
