The Technical Trainer is responsible for creating, conducting, and evaluating product trainings for Henny Penny's distributor, service network, restaurant level personnel and internal tech service team. The Technical Trainer educates service personnel on how to troubleshoot, maintain and repair Henny Penny equipment and educates distributors, and restaurant level employees on how to safely operate, use features, maintain and perform light troubleshooting. This position has discretion to exercise judgment on matters of significance for the company and performs major assignments in conducting the operations of the business.



What You'll be Doing:



  • Deliver engaging in-person, live streaming and on-demand courses for distributor personnel, service technicians, installation technicians, start-up trainers, restaurant level employees, maintenance personnel, and the internal technical service team regarding product operation, installation, maintenance, and service.


  • Must be able to answer questions and present on topics such as sequence of operation, theory of operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, part replacement for service technicians and then on operation, cleaning, maintenance, best practices training and troubleshooting for others in our distributor network and restaurant level employees.


  • Continuously develop to become a subject matter expert (SME) and truly understand the attendees needs on the material you present through consultation with internal and external SMEs, customers, distributors, through research of documentation, hands-on experience with equipment.


  • Create and maintain training curriculum such as training handouts, service documentation, hands-on training modules, videos for Learning Management System (LMS) and other outlets, and online training courses.


  • Assist with maintenance of the LMS (learning management system) teams, courses, learning paths, and attendee database.


  • Clean and maintain the training facilities and equipment.


  • Respond to emails from our techtraining general inbox


  • Assesses attendees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training


  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training modules, sessions, and work with other trainers to make curriculum more effective and/or recommends changes to training policies and procedures as needed to improve future results.


  • Look for opportunities to remain current with up-to-date product information and training techniques and opportunities to stay close to and relevant to our customer's needs.

  • Required to travel up to 25% of time

What We're Looking For:



  • Minimum 2-year degree in communication or business admin related major, or equivalent experience


  • 2 years' experience in a training role


  • Food service equipment / industry knowledge a plus


  • Must have a passion for training and meeting customer's training needs


  • Proven success at creating and delivering training programs


  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and gas systems


  • Knowledge of training and learning principles


  • Ability to communicate with highly technical team members and develop training that can be understood by non-technical individuals.


  • Ability to speak in front of and lead small to large groups of customers, distributors and internal teams


  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal


  • Experience with writing and/or maintaining documentation such as user manuals and reference guides


  • Video production experience a plus


  • Must be able to work well with co-workers and other team members to accomplish goals.


  • Must be a team player.


  • Must own your work.


  • Excellent time management skills with attention to detail


  • Ability to be flexible and adjust training agenda when needed to better meet the needs of the attendees.


  • Ability to deliver training in-person, live streaming (over Zoom) or on-camera for on-demand content


  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
