Loan Officer I- Outbound Calling at Empower Federal Credit Union

Job Description:

Role:
To create long lasting relationships with our members through exceptional sales and service. The primary focus of this position is to increase the consumer lending portfolio by originating new loan business through our outbound telephone calling campaign including, but not limited to: Internet, Telephone, Email, Credit Prescreens, Indirect Lending Reports and SEG referrals. Leads will be followed up through telephone calls, emails and/or letters.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

45% Receives and accurately processes all consumer lending related inquires, primarily through our outbound telephone calling campaign including but not limited to: Internet, Telephone, Email, Credit Prescreens, Indirect Lending Reports and SEG referrals.

30% Meets or exceeds sales goals and may include goals for volume, payment protection (life and disability), buyouts, GAP and MRC.

10% Maintains a high level of education and training.

5% Assists with Sales Department and Lending Division activities.

5% Refer and cross-sell all credit union products and services.
5% All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills
1. Working knowledge of regulations relating to all Credit Union deposit and lending products.
2. Must have working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software; must be able to use a PC and all types of general office equipment.
3. Comply with all credit union/departmental training requirements.
4. Professionalism in appearance, dress and attitude a must.
5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Occasional travel may be required, including but not limited to: working in various branches and/or the call center, SEG visits, training sessions and various staff meetings.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, stoop or squat for long periods of time (up to 6 or 8 hours, less break) Ability to retrieve or file from various filing cabinets Ability to lift at least 10 pounds Ability to use hands, arms, and fingers in repeated motions that include ability to feel or operate objects, tools, or controls including grasping and turning motions Ability to withstand a high pressured, demanding environment Ability to multi-task and perform with minimum supervision Vision requirements include ability to see up close, at a distance, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus.

Work Environment: 

Works in fully equipped office. Subject to frequent travel to facilities and direct telephone communication with staff.
