This is a new position and great opportunity for a Corporate Development professional. We are seeking a talented, experienced, and committed individual with a winning attitude, a history of demonstrating initiative and a personal style that embraces collaboration and helps others thrive. You will be a core member of F5’s Corporate Development team and help identify, research and analyze inorganic opportunities including acquisitions, investments and major, transformative projects. You will be exposed to all aspects of opportunity sourcing, evaluation, financial analysis, and due diligence. You will work closely with Corp Dev and company executives to help develop and execute the company’s strategic M&A agenda, and thereby play a vital role in shaping the direction of F5.
We'll look to you to demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills, an ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with minimal supervision, showing outstanding judgment, tact and communication skills in leading internal and external relationships, accommodating different work styles and shifting workloads. What will you do?
Assist in the review and analysis of companies, markets, technologies and products in support of F5 goals and objectives.
Collaborate with product group leaders, functional executives, and Finance to construct detailed financial projections and valuation models to deliver insight into acquisition opportunities
Management of Corp Dev pipeline, deal evaluation criteria and transaction history
Coordinate all areas of the deal management team process:
a. Business case development
b. LOI (Letter of intent) development and support
c. Due diligence support
d. Contract negotiation
e. Integration planning
f. Post-close activities and obligations
Participate in the preparation and delivery of presentations to senior management, business unit leaders and major stakeholders
Be a productive member of virtual multi-disciplinary team(s) across geographies, product and functional lines in pursuit of strategic objectives.
Implement best practices, tools and templates to augment the existing deal management process and methodology.
Design and drive training and development programs in support of the Department’s learning and career development objectives.
Evaluate acquisitions and partnerships, performing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analyses
Identify trends and develop strategic frameworks and competitive landscape maps for segments of interest
Identify potential acquisition targets and develop a point of view on the merits of different options
Prior experience of 8+ years of relevant high-tech work experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting and/or corporate development required
MBA, or demonstrated equivalent; finance or engineering degrees a plus
Experience with managing merger and acquisition processes (e.g., acquisitions, investments, divestitures, etc.), including product strategy to ecosystem landscaping and discussions.
Experience identifying, evaluating, and analyzing potential acquisitions and partnerships
Proven record of sound business judgment and advice to senior leaders
Effective communication skills in presenting recommendations to senior management
Highly analytical with strong financial acumen, model construction, and valuation skills
Broad exposure to different businesses, business models and business strategies
Proven experience working across multiple businesses and functions to drive consensus
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, able to inspire and motivate an organization
Prior experience in technology, cyber security, networking, and/or analytics preferred
Willingness to travel for due diligence processes (conditions generally permitting)
High energy, positive attitude, self-starter and motivated
Executive presence, comfortable interacting with senior business leaders
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage and balance multiple projects
Proven analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven approach to problem solving
Team player able to participate in and lead virtual teams

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $126,960.00 - $190,440.00
F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
